In accordance with the agreement at the session of the Crisis Staff of the Republic of Slovenia for the containment and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted an Ordinance on temporary ban and restrictions on public transport of passengers in the Republic of Slovenia. The Ordinance temporarily bans public transport of passengers in the Republic of Slovenia for the purpose of containing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic. Pursuant to this Ordinance, the provision of regular public passenger transport, special regular passenger transport, non-scheduled regular passenger transport, occasional passenger transport and public rail passenger transport in domestic and international in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia traffic is prohibited , with the exception of auto-taxi services. Auto-taxi transportation is permitted if, before taking a passenger, a taxi driver makes arrangements for proper disinfection of parts of the vehicle that are in regular physical contact with the passenger.
Any form of transport required for emergency assistance services and other emergency services of the public sector will be exempt from the restrictions under this ordinance. In this type of transport, the organiser and the operator should provide for appropriate protection of drivers and passengers. Any other exemptions, however, must be approved by the minister responsible for infrastructure.
Moreover, the ordinance prohibits the carriage of persons by cableways, funiculars and circular cable cars. This prohibition shall not apply in cases of emergency care, medical assistance, protection and rescue and for persons who, before the entry into force of this Ordinance, carried out transport services by the means referred to in the above paragraph and and are on their return trip after the entry into force of this ordinance.
Even in this case, any other exceptions should be approved by the minister responsible for infrastructure.
The bans and the restrictions set out in this ordinance will remain in force for as long as grounds for them exist, as determined by the Government's decision published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia.
